Scholarship Program

Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Siouxland, Inc. is proud to offer scholarship opportunities to graduating high school seniors who have volunteered at RMHC of Siouxland, or whose family has stayed at RMHC of Siouxland.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, April 12, 2024

SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: Ranges up to a maximum of $1,000

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for an RMHC of Siouxland Scholarship, a student must:

  • Have volunteered at RMHC of Siouxland or be a member of a family who stayed at RMHC of Siouxland.
  • Be graduating from high school within the RMHC Siouxland service area.
  • Live in the RMHC of Siouxland service area.
  • Be enrolling at a two- or four-year college, university, or technical school with a full course of study.
  • Be a legal U.S. resident.
  • Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline of the application.
  • Provide verification of enrollment at his/her accredited post-secondary institution, upon receiving a scholarship.
  • Applications will be considered by committee consisting of RMHC Siouxland Board members and staff. Recipients will be selected based on their academic achievement, RMHC connection and/or volunteer service, personal statements, and recommendations.


RMHC of Siouxland, Inc. has been offering scholarships to local high school seniors since 2003.

Terms & Conditions

  • Awards may only be applied to tuition, fees, room and board and books.
  • Recipients must attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the fall of 2024 as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more/semester).
  • The total award amount is sent in late August directly to the college or institution and is not paid or reimbursed to the student.  It is up to the recipient to decide how funds should be divided over the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Recipients must submit verification of enrollment and full-time status before checks are sent.

Supporting Documents

The following documents are required:

  • The applicant’s certified grades. Must include cumulative GPA and courses taken.
  • A personal statement from the applicant, no more than 500-1000 words, that answers the following question: Why family togetherness is important to you?

Applications can be found here. Online applications with all required documents must be submitted by 5:00 p.m Friday, April 12, 2024.
