Compassion Kits
Life happens — a sudden call, a rush to the hospital, and the realization that you left home without the things you need most. For families with a child receiving medical care, getting back home to grab a bag isn't always an option. And a quick run to the drug store means leaving your child's side.
What's in a Compassion Kit?
That's why we created Compassion Kits, a tote bag packed with everyday essentials and thoughtful convenience items. Volunteers hand-pack each kit with travel-size toiletries, a cozy blanket, a travel pillow, children's books, a stuffed animal, and activities the whole family can enjoy together. Then we hand-deliver each one directly to families at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's.
We also stock smaller kits for our Outreach Communities, with items like travel-size toiletries, postpartum cooling pads, a hairbrush, socks, and ChapStick.
Every Compassion Kit sends a simple but powerful reminder: someone in this community sees you.
