To provide a supportive, convenient, comfortable and affordable "home-away-from-home" for families of children (ages 21 and younger) receiving medical care in Siouxland.
"Come rest your weary body. Ease your tired mind.
Let the hours of daily pressure stop if only for a brief time.
Sit and talk to people, just like you.
Who walk down that uncertain highway and look for guidance too.
Let us take the daily decisions and put them on our backs.
A meal, a bed, a ride, or a place for just a moment to relax."
- Lori French -
If you have a child (age 21 or younger) receiving medical care in Siouxland, you are eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. The child could be hospitalized in-patient or out-patient, in rehabilitation or therapy or receiving medical care at another Siouxland agency (i.e. Jackson Recovery, Boys & Girls Home & Family Services, Opportunities Unlimited).
There is NO other criteria to stay at the Ronald McDonald House - whether you live near or far, make no income or zillions of dollars, it doesn't matter! We invite all families of children receiving medical to stay with us - we provide a very comfortable and supportive home for you while you are helping your child recover.
To register for a room at the Ronald McDonald House, please contact a medical professional, nurse, doctor or social worker that is associated with your child. They are welcome to call us and provide a referral. If there is a room available, you will be able to come to the House and go through a simple registration process, a tour of the House and we will provide you a key to your room and the door. Once you are registered, you are free to come and go as your schedule allows.
The Ronald McDonald House is a place for guest families to stay while their child is receiving medical care. We make every effort to make our guest families comfortable and take the daily responsibilities out of their lives so they can concentrate on improving their child's health.
